We hosted our first Wildlife Society Conservation Expo on August 31st at the Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina, and it was a smashing success!
Eighty-six attendees gathered to network throughout an evening of invited speakers and poster presentations. Lin Gallagher from the Ministry of Environment gave a talk about some of the initiatives in conservation (such as caribou management actions!), while Erin Baerwald from the American Wind Wildlife Institute spoke about bats and wind energy.
After the speakers’ presentations, attendees drifted between 26 posters while sipping drinks and nibbling delicious appetizers. Everyone had a great time, and many lingered until we closed down the venue! We can’t wait to host this event again and are hoping for a bigger, better 2018 Conservation Expo! See you there.
