In accordance with the Saskatchewan Chapter bylaws, our Chapters executive shall consist of a:
- President (can remain in position for 3 years, this year this position is OPEN – see for more details below)
- Vice President
- Secretary – Treasurer
- Student Representation (1 position for U of R, 1 position for U of S)
- At least one Member at Large (i.e., Board Member)
- External Communications
We encourage anyone who is interested in helping promote and develop the Saskatchewan Chapter of TWS to consider elective positions. With our president position open this year we are looking to bring aboard an excited, team-orientated individual who is passionate about wildlife to lead the chapter as the new president. We remind all that Chapter President is a great opportunity to network with a variety of wildlife professionals in Saskatchewan and the rest of Canada!
Duties of positions may range from attending/calling in to monthly meetings, attending annual or bi-monthly conference calls with TWS and CSTWS personnel, fundraising for the Chapter, creating a poster for an upcoming seminar, assisting with the newsletter, and organizing events. Ultimately, your participation on the executive board at any level will be a valuable and useful additional to the development of the SCTWS Chapter. SCTWS Executive positions provide an opportunity to network nationally and internationally, and, of course, look good on your CV.
Term of office is one year. Voting for the new executive will begin on March 3rd, 2018, with details to follow. If you have any questions regarding executive positions or the nomination/elections process please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com.
Only people who are (or willing to become) members of both SCTWS and TWS, are eligible to run for an executive position, however all SCTWS members can vote. To become a member of TWS, visit www.wildlife.org. The Term of office for elected officers is one year. If there is more than one candidate for each position (aside for Member-at-Large), there will be a vote to determine which candidate(s) will hold the desired position(s). The nominated executive will be approved by vote at the AGM on March 3rd, 2018 just prior to the keynote speaker.
For more information on duties for each role, see our Current Executive Members page!
